This was an extra fun project for me. A family from the same hometown as me asked to do two sessions – one back home on their family farm and one here in the city where they live. It was fun to do something different, I’m not normally taking photos in the country with tractors and barns. It reminded me of the farm I grew up on, I felt right at home. We had beautiful golden light and didn’t stop shooting until the sun was going down. Then, we did a session at the Cross Roads in KC. We found some awesome backdrops with different textures and colors on the buildings around. Grace, you were awesome and fun to photograph and I wish you the best this last high-school year!
As always, this family is full of energy, fun, and some craziness..but in it all, they take care of each other. There is an amazing connection between these brothers and it will carry all through life. What a wonderful family to be around! Thanks for letting me capture you all!
We had a beautiful evening for a senior photo session! I was introduced to a couple of new areas around Shawnee Mission Park, then ended up at one of my favorite areas in the end. Fields of flowers were plentiful, along with a cool creek area that created awesome backdrops. Johnnie was great to work with, he has a good smile, but also can do the serious look well. Johnnie, good luck during your senior year, I wish you the best!
Happy 20th Anniversary to our dearest friends/ex-neighbors! With the whole Covid-19 happening, they’re not able to celebrate big this year…but we still had to capture this awesome milestone…at a safe distance! You can see the love these two have for each other, you’re still absolutely stunning.
Well, I’ve been meaning to get some shots of the kids this past summer, and then fall when that didn’t happen…well, as you all know, time flies! So, as I’m in the cleaning/organizing mood of January…I am at the point where I HAVE to have updated photos of my children on my family wall! So, I picked out clothes for the kiddos and we went outside and did a mini shoot. Thankfully it wasn’t too cold out and they didn’t mind posing for me. Allie didn’t even fight me on the outfit I had for her, which for those of you who follow #alliesoutfits realize it was quite the feat. ;) And, once we were done, they wanted to do a costume shoot, so we did. Charlie created a super hero. He’s Time-Stop man…or something to that effect…I love his imagination and Allie wanting to do the same as her “bubby.” Anyways, these kiddos are growing up so fast, Charlie is 8 1/2 and Allie will be 5 in a couple weeks! I miss the “littles” stages, but also it’s great to see who they’re becoming.
